A nursing home in Brisbane, Australia, is preparing to install a vertical platform lift to bring elderly residents with mobility issues who use wheelchairs to the second floor. The scene is as follows.
Based on the site conditions, we recommended a vertical platform lift. We strictly adhere to Australian AS1735 certification. According to Australian regulations, the platform dimensions are 1100mm x 1400mm, ensuring sufficient space for a wheelchair and a person standing. The cabin includes handrails, which are 900mm from the ground as required.
Because it’s an outdoor installation within a nursing home, to ensure safety around the elevator, the client opted to install a half-height shaft on the first floor to enclose the elevator’s lifting area, protecting the elevator’s safety and the safety of people walking around the nursing home.
A half-height door needs to be installed on the second floor to prevent the risk of falls for people passing by.
