Small size, no pit required – Home Lift for Hong Kong
We first received the customer’s inquiry in June 2025. The customer mentioned that the home elevator was intended for their elderly mother at home. As she is advanced in age, they wanted to solve the inconvenience of her going up and down the stairs, and improve the safety and comfort of her daily living at home.
Since the original layout of the house could not be altered, the available on-site space was limited. In addition, the customer explicitly requested no civil engineering modifications and no damage to the existing flooring.
Project Challenges:
- Limited installation space; requires a custom small-sized lift to meet basic single-person use.
- No on-site civil construction conditions permitted; no damage to flooring is allowed, so the lift must adopt a pitless design.
- Potential safety hazards exist after floor slab opening: when the lift is on the ground floor, the second-floor opening poses risks of falling objects or falls. Safety protection must be provided accordingly.

The specific parameters of the solution are as follows:
- Rated load: 400 kg
- Installation opening size: 1160 × 1470 mm
- Internal car size: 1000 × 1000 mm (suitable for 1–2 persons, meeting daily mobility needs)
- Lifting height: 2800 mm
- Door configuration: Half-height door design, suitable for small-space installation
- Special design: Pitless structure with ramp transition; no civil works required and no damage to existing flooring, fully complying with on-site construction requirements
- Safety protection: Dedicated safety railing installed on the second floor. When the lift is parked on the first floor, the railing automatically forms a protective barrier, completely eliminating the risk of falls through the opening.
This solution not only fits the original layout of the house but also solves the mobility difficulties for the elderly family members. Meanwhile, it avoids on-site construction safety risks from the design source.
