Australian Standard Compliant Solution for Extreme Dimension Constraints

Following the successful delivery of our first cooperation with the Australian client, only two months later, the client placed another order for two commercial elevators with us.

This is not only recognition of our product quality, but also a high affirmation of XYZLIFT’s comprehensive strength in Australian standard elevator customization, solution design for extreme dimension constraints, and full-process project services.

In November 2025, we received an inquiry from the client for two commercial elevators. The client clearly stated that the project is located in the local central business district with high elevator usage frequency and steady passenger flow. The elevators must be designed, manufactured and inspected in full compliance with Australian commercial elevator standards.

At the initial stage of the project, based on preliminary on-site civil engineering measurements, the client provided us with two sets of basic parameters, applicable respectively to three-story and four-story buildings. The core requirements are as follows:

There floor:

Shaft Clearance (WxD) mm or Total Space:2800 x 2600mm

Minimum Cabin Size (WxD):1100×1400 mm

Minimum Door Size:900 mm (As per Australian Standard)

Doors Type:Sliding Auto

Travel height:8000mm

Top floor height:4000mm

Pit:1200mm

Load capacity:630kg

Four floors:

Shaft Clearance (WxD) mm or Total Space:2800 x 2601m

Minimum Cabin Size (WxD):1100×1400 mm

Minimum Door Size:900 mm (As per Australian Standard)

Doors Type:Sliding Auto

Travel height:8000mm

Top floor height:4000mm

Pit:1200mm

Load capacity:630kg

The client requires commercial elevators. However, commercial elevator regulations mandate that the overhead height shall be no less than 4500 mm, with the pit depth around 1500 mm.

The on-site overhead height is already fixed. Under Australian building requirements, raising the height of an existing building involves multi-level official approval procedures, which is extremely complicated.

If we adopt the dimensions of residential villa elevators, the size can fit the site perfectly. Nevertheless, the two elevators are located in a public commercial area. Their usage scenario, passenger flow volume, safety classification and inspection acceptance criteria must all fully comply with commercial elevator standards, and downgrading to residential lift specifications is not permitted at all.

This means we have to deliver a fully compliant commercial elevator solution without altering the overhead height, expanding the building exterior, or extending the approval timeline.

After receiving the site dimensions from the client, we held a discussion with our technical team. We suggested the client deepen the pit depth; by adopting the car bottom wheel structure, the elevator could be manufactured strictly in accordance with commercial elevator specifications. We promptly provided the customized solution to the client.

The client immediately approved the proposal upon presentation and arranged their engineering team to recheck all dimensions on site.
During project advancement, an unexpected change arose again: after precise re-measurement on site by the client, the actual available space turned out to be much smaller than the initial measured data.

The clear shaft size was greatly reduced from the original 2800mm × 2600mm to 1900mm × 1750mm, and the overhead height dropped from 4000mm to 3700mm. Even so, the elevator still had to follow commercial elevator structural standards.

After our technical team reviewed the site conditions, they confirmed only one feasible solution: keep the overhead height unchanged, deepen the pit depth, and adopt the car bottom wheel structure. This way, the safety layout and Australian standard certification requirements for commercial elevators can be satisfied without modifying the building exterior.
We promptly provided a revised solution again:

The client promptly submitted the drawings and planning documents for approval. The approval was granted in December, and we received the client’s payment on January 2nd.

The two commercial elevator projects in Australia this time are a typical reflection of XYZLIFT’s overseas technical strength. Despite multiple constraints—insufficient overhead height, inadequate pit depth, significantly reduced shaft dimensions, mandatory compliance with commercial elevator standards, and required Australian standard certification—we still successfully implemented the solution, obtained approval, and signed the order. This fully demonstrates that no matter how extreme the working conditions or how strict the standards are, XYZLIFT can always provide reliable solutions for customers with professional technology.

From the first cooperation to the rapid repeat order, from demand communication to technical tackling, from drawing confirmation to approval, we have always been customer-centric, adhering to uncompromising standards, uncompromised quality, and uninterrupted services.

Choosing XYZLIFT means choosing professionalism, choosing peace of mind, and choosing a long-term and stable partner.
