Elevator installation in senior apartments
On April 26th, we received an inquiry from Eric, a client from Indonesia. He wanted to install an elevator in his three-story senior apartment. He mentioned that the elevator was rarely used, perhaps only once or twice a week, and would ideally require minimal maintenance. Furthermore, the elevator needed to be large enough for wheelchair users to easily access.
Since we have many successful cases in Indonesia and have an installation environment similar to Eric’s site, we sent Eric a video of customer feedback and customer evaluation of us. After watching it, Eric’s trust in us increased greatly.
Since it was the weekend, the customer said they would go to measure the dimensions on Monday. The customer also sent the concept map after the on-site decoration.

On Monday morning, the customer sent us site dimensions and photos. With an existing concrete shaft and pit already in place, a traction-driven elevator would have been ideal. However, Eric repeatedly emphasized the need for low-frequency operation and maintenance-free operation. After careful consideration, we determined that a hydraulic elevator would better meet his needs, saving money while also fully satisfying his “low-maintenance” requirements.

After a brief discussion with the customer, we designed drawings that were tailored to the site’s dimensions and well conditions. For safety reasons, we made the following changes:
1. We have added landing doors on each floor, each equipped with an electric lock and door closer (the landing door cannot be opened when the elevator is running, and can only be opened when the elevator reaches the corresponding floor). This can effectively avoid the danger of the door on the second or third floor opening when the elevator is on the first floor.

2. Taking into account the use of wheelchair users, we have added handrails suitable for wheelchair users in the car
3. Add a backup power supply so that even if a power outage occurs, the elevator can still descend to the nearby floor normally.
4. Add a fan on the car roof to ensure air circulation in the car
5. Add an emergency call number so that you can contact the outside world and get rescued as soon as possible in case of emergency
6. The car is equipped with anti-fall protection to prevent accidents
7. Emergency stop buttons are provided on the top and bottom for easy maintenance
8. Each part has a separate label to facilitate customer installation
9. Maintenance-free, just check the hydraulic oil usage every 3-6 months
10. A maintenance support rod is made at the bottom of the car. When the elevator needs maintenance, the maintenance support rod can be opened to support the car for easy maintenance.
The design and selection of the elevator for the senior apartment are guided by the core needs of customers. Ten optimization adjustments can effectively provide a safe, reliable and low-cost solution for the senior apartment.
