Understanding the Cost Components of a Home Elevator

When considering installing a home elevator, it’s essential to understand the various cost components that contribute to the overall expense. Home elevators, like those offered by XYZLIFT, are not just a luxury but a modern convenience that can enhance your living experience. In this blog, we’ll break down the cost components of a home elevator to help you make an informed decision.

  1. Basic Parameters:

The cost of a home elevator begins with its basic parameters, including:

Number of Floors and Stops: Determines the number of doors and control panels required.

Floor Heights: Including the top floor, to ascertain the necessary height for guide rails, frames, and shafts.

Installation Dimensions: XYZLIFT designs the cabin size based on your specific installation space, affecting the width of the guide rails and frames, as well as the depth and width of the shaft.

Door Opening Direction: Influences the number of light curtains for the cabin door and the number of cabin walls.

These factors determine the mechanical material requirements and thus the mechanical cost portion.

   2. Home elevator of Cabin, Landing Doors, and Shaft Choices:

Approximately 20% of the cost is attributed to the selection of cabins, landing doors, and the shaft:

Cabin Choices: You can choose between glass or stainless steel cabins. You can also have custom colors such as rose gold, black, or gold stainless steel. You can also have custom decorations, engravings, and designs for your cabin ceiling and floor.

Landing Doors: For landing doors, you can have manual swing doors, automatic swing doors, or center opening or side opening doors. You can also have glass or stainless steel doors made from aluminum alloy.

Shaft Options: For your shaft, if you’re indoors, you will probably want the 75 model and if you’re outdoors, you will probably want the 100 model. The 100 model is 30% more money. You can also have different colors of glass on the shaft.

The combination of your cabin, your doors, and your shaft can dramatically affect your cost.

  1. Lifting System:

The lifting system, accounting for 20% of the cost, includes mechanical parts such as guide rail frames, guide rails, guide frames, lifting platforms, and steel belts or ropes. The cost is influenced by floor heights, but remains fixed for elevators of the same height.

  1. Hydraulic Drive System:

About 35% of the cost is for the hydraulic drive system, comprising a silent motor, hydraulic pump station, hydraulic cylinder, and valve groups. The power of the motor and the travel height of the cylinder vary depending on the number of floors served.

  1. Electrical Control System:

Making up 25% of the home elevator cost, XYZLIFT’s proprietary electrical control system includes distribution boxes, COP and HOP, UPS, inverters, and safety clamps. The system’s cost relates to the number of floors the elevator serves.
